Malam Jabba, Swat, after being a hiatus site for 11 years because of security concerns hosted the Alpine International Cup Skiing Tournament. 11 countries, including India, are participating in the run for the medals.
International skiers took it to the slopes and showed their skills on the white blanket of snow. The KK Government planned the tournament as an initiative to bring back tourism and sports activities in the mountainous regions.
The region has been a hub for winter sports in the past and is now ready to reclaim its position for international sports competitions and other activities.
