The National Institute of Folk and Traditional Heritage, Lok Virsa, kicked off a 10-day Eid Mela for families from July 09 to celebrate the Eid festivity in a colourful way. The festival will continue till chand raat and the main attractions at the festival entails a lot colorful and intricate displays consisting of art and craft bazaar, garments and Henna stalls, artisans’ displays, home based women glass bangle makers from Hyderabad and other attractions.

Lok Virsa’s executive director, Dr Fouzia Saeed, informed in a statement that the delegation of women home-based bangle makers from Hyderabad had been invited to showcase their talent in this Eid Mela from between July 12th till 16th, 2015.

They use this profession as a source of income and to contribute to poverty alleviation among women in their community,” she said.

This mela is regarded by the audience as a different shopping experience with a friendly ambiance where the women can easily get their hands painted with henna and shop with their families.
