LINE, the Japanese owned mobile messaging platform with a 490 million user base, has become one of Pakistan’s most popular mobile messengers providing tough competition to WhatsApp, Viber and Facebook Messenger.

Line reached No. 2 on the Top Free Application Chart of Apple’s App Store as of August 11, 2014, jumping a whopping 28 spots in just over three days. 

The messaging app, available on all platforms provides free voice and video calling service alongwith a host of family apps including LINE Selfie Camera, LINE Whoscall and LINE DECO. The app also hosts games like Disney Tsum Tsum and many more.

With Pakistan as its next strategic market, LINE is striving to reach out to more Pakistani users with upcoming marketing campaigns. According to the official statement, more than 1.6 million new users are registering to the app every hour globally.

Comparing it with other popular messaging apps, line offers both free text messaging and calls on a user-friendly interface, along with dynamic gaming and social networking features.
