The cooking oil manufacturers, Kashmir Banaspati’s latest TVC was recently released. The brand has differentiated itself by focusing more towards showcasing the use of fresh green vegetables instead of the usual meat and poultry items that are portrayed in Pakistani food ads.

Kashmir Banaspati’s ad has a similar look and feel as Nurpur’s Ramadan ad which was released earlier this year in August. The dairy brand, Nurpur’s ad was a breath of fresh air from the usual singing and dancing that every other company was previously following. Both advertisements are produced by the powerhouse, Stimulus Productions.
It now looks like the cooking oil brand is following Nurpur’s footsteps and using the same technique of letting the food do the talking. The ad features close-up shots of various vegetables being cooked to perfection using the brand’s very own cooking oil.
Kashmir Banaspati has tried to make vegetables a favored preference over meat delicacies, but for a meat-loving nation that we are, was this a sound strategy to use?
