ARY’s senior anchor – Mubashir Lucman has been stopped by IHC (Islamabad High Court) to conduct any TV program on the basis of a complaint filed by the Lal Masjid Shuhada Foundation’s representative Hafiz Ahtesham.
According to a local website, Mr.Luqman has been served on the basis of defaming and ridiculing higher government authorities and dignitaries in his show, as claimed by Hafiz Ahtesham’s lawyer Tariq Asad
According to the IHC’s judge, several complaints against the TV anchor have been received earlier but no action has been taken so far by PEMRA in this regard. The court has further inquired PEMRA over the actions taken against these complaints.
Mubashir Luqman is considered to be a senior journalist and current affair analyst who is currently hosting Khara Sach, a news talk show host on ARY News.
Mr.Luqman has been prone to controversies and scandals, the recent one being the blasphemy case against Geo’s morning show.
No official statement regarding the news has been released by the anchor yet.
