Pakistan is steadily returning to its previous glory with the revival of sports. The country is effortlessly working on promoting the tourism sector of the nation with the introduction of several competitions for winter sports.
Not only have these winter sports encouraged bringing back ice hockey, figure skating, and skiing, it has also opened doors for both international athletes and tourists who have always wanted to explore the real beauty of Pakistan.
One such competition which has made headlines is the International Karakoram Alpine Ski Cup. Kicking-off from tomorrow, the International Karakoram Alpine Ski Cup will witness participants from Pakistan and foreign countries.
Reportedly, 32 skiers from 10 countries including the UK, France, Hong Kong, Turkey are participating in the mega event which has been jointly organized by Pakistan Air Force and Winter Sports Federation of Pakistan.
Furthermore, Dawn has reported that high-ranking international skiers from Greece, Afghanistan, Turkey, Ukraine, Hong Kong, the United Kingdom, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Belgium, Morocco, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan and Tajikistan will be racing in slalom and giant slalom categories of the event.
The WSFP has also procured a snow-making machine to make it less dependent on snowfall in the area. With the installation of new tow-lift and the induction of snow-making machine, the winter sports enthusiasts are set to enjoy a prolonged season this year.
The promotion of sports and tourism will help bring foreign currency in the country and will help strengthen the country’s economy and help bring back the value of the rupee against the dollar.
