One of the most highly anticipated movies of the year, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo was granted the ‘U’ certificate by the censor board with only 3 required edits for inappropriate use of language.

According to sources, Sooraj Barjatya’s family drama was asked to remove the twice used word ‘Chinar’ (used to describe a mistress or an immoral woman) from the movie dialogues.’

While Barjatya’s movies are known to utterly respect women, the censor board still felt the need to order avoiding the use of any derogatory remarks used for the females.

The other line asked to be edited out was “Maar diya jaay ke chhod diya jaye” in a Ram Leela antakshari performance on the grounds that it might offend religious sects.

Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, starring Salman Khan and Sonam Kapoor, is all set to hit theatres over the long Diwali weekend on 12th November 2015.
