Huawei, a Chinese Multinational company, revealed a new budget smartphone Huawei Y635 in the Mobile World Congress 2015 that took place in Barcelona, Spain. The smartphone made its way to Pakistani market recently and is a successor of Huawei Ascend Y625. The major upgradation in Huawei Y635 is its 4G and NFC (Near Field Communication) compatibility.

Apart from that, here is a complete review of the phone:

Screen

A 5-inch display, with an 854 x 480 resolution – with 720p fast becoming the accepted display at this price point, the Y635 does feel a little behind the times with its nonHD offering.

That gives you a pixel density of 196ppi and while that’s not terrible, games and video won’t look particularly stellar on it.

The screen is bright though, with a decent contrast ratio and even easy readability of texts and other documents in sunlight – although you don’t need to look too closely to see the pixels.

Interface

With Android 4.4.2 Kitkat, Huawei has coated Y635 by Quad-core 1.2 GHz processor along with Adreno 306 GPU (Graphic Processing Unit). It is pretty simple to use for the first time users.

interface

Apart from usual Google services like Chrome, Google+, Maps, Play Music and Google Drive etc, Huawei Y635 has a pre-installed utility app ‘Phone Manager’ which contains several options like phone accelerator, harassment filter, power saving, traffic manager, notification manager, permission manager, virus scanner and so on.

The ‘Privacy Protection’ option in the settings is very interesting. It enables the users to add two passwords or patterns on the phone, one for personal information and the other for the public information. In this way, a user can keep all the private information away from the peering eyes with them even knowing.

Camera

A 5 MP rear camera with 2592 x 1944 pixels and LED flash, this phone is known to fit the pockets but take okay pictures.

Connectivity

Sporting a Bluetooth of v4.0 with A2DP, USB (microUSB v2.0), WLAN (Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, hotspot), GPRS, EDGE, 3G (HSPA 21.1/5.76 Mbps) and LTE, the new set ensures good connectivity.

Available is only black and white colors, and a pocket-friendly price of Rs 15,750 (US $160), this new phone is easy on the pockets with all the much-required features.
