Interior Sindh, specially Karachi may have been deprived of rainfall from the last three years but Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD)’s Director Dr. Muhammad Hanif said that the province is expected to receive monsoon rains 15 days earlier than the rest of the country.
The Met Office has predicted that rainfall in Sindh province will begin earlier than other provinces. The Director also added that Sindh will receive an ample amount of rainfall this year and this monsoon season will be very favorable for the province.
The monsoon incursion will enter earlier in Pakistan, with rainfall expected from July 15th to September 15th while rainfall in Karachi and interior Sindh is expected to begin 10-15 days earlier.
Some areas of interior Sindh to get heavy showers include Tharparkar, Umerkot, Chacharo and Mithi including others.
Director PMD also indicated that two heat strokes may strike during May and June 2016, however they would be lower in intensity in comparison to last year’s heat wave.
