From Cupcake 1.5 to Marshmallow 6.0, going in alphabetical order Google has a tradition of nicknaming its Android versions with sweet delicacies.

Apparently, in search of a new name for a version starting from “N”, Google’s CEO Sundar Pichai has announced that they might be taking an online poll to name it this time around

Speaking to massive hoard of students at University’s Sri Ram College of Commerce in Dehli, Pichai was treated to a hilarious cheeky question amidst roaring applause that, ” Why Android versions weren’t named after Indian sweets?”.

Amused, the tech guru answered, ” When I will meet my mom, I’ll ask her for suggestions.”

He further added, ” Maybe what I’ll do next time, is when we’re working on the next release of Android, Android N, maybe we’ll do an online poll on what the name should be. And if all Indians vote… I think we can make it happen!”.

So now Indians probably will have a voice in suggesting the new Andriod version. Maybe it will be Nutella or Nougat? Any guesses? If it were for desi sweets, we would root for the yummilicious crunchy

If it were for desi sweets, we would root for the yummilicious crunchy “Naan Khatai”.  What would you suggest? Share your suggestions in the comments below.
