Gas supply has been halted across major areas in Karachi after Sui Southern Gas Company is facing a shortfall of 300 million cubic feet per day of gas, according to Samaa News.

CNG stations in Karachi will be closed for 34 hours from Thursday night due to low gas pressure supply.

According to the SSGC, CNG stations will resume their operations on Saturday at 8 am in the city.

Complaints of gas load-shedding have also been reported from various areas in the city and many residents have reported their complaints on social media. The impacted areas are:

  • Lyari
  • Korangi
  • North Nazimabad
  • Gulshan-e-Iqbal
  • Defense
  • Clifton
  • Mehmoodabad
  • Gulistan-e-Jauhar

The SSGV officials said that the company faces a total shortfall of 300 mmcfd, the reason why gas supply was suspended in various areas and to CNG stations. There are 300 CNG stations all over Karachi, 650 total in Sindh.

However, now that the gas supply is suspended till Saturday, it will cause more trouble for the citizens until the company overcomes the gas shortage.
