A Turkish travel company has launched the world’s first ever Islamic cruise, branding it as 100% Halal to tap fervent Muslims all over the world.

Aiming to expand the scope of Muslim-friendly tourism, the Antalya based business “Fusion Tour” has themed its ground-breaking idea as “On the track of the Ottomans”.

Presenting the package of a four night trip on the Aegean sea, the Halal sea voyage promises no anti-Islamic activities i.e. no alcohol, pork-related food or gambling allowed on board.

“It will not be just a cruise which does not have alcohol or pork-related products,” told Kemal Gunay, the general manager of Fusion Tour.

What’s more, it will offer a separate sports center, spa facilities along with segregated Turkish bath and prayer rooms.

“It will be a cultural and historical tour which promises an atmosphere of social networking”, Gunay revealed further.

The pro-Islamic ship will embark on its first great journey on September 27 to Greek Islands of Rhodes and Crete, departing from a sea port at Izmir province.

Seemingly in Turkey, Halal tourism is a booming industry. It has been noted over the past 15 years that the figure of Halal Hotels and travel agencies are on an ever-increasing rise. Muslim holiday makers prefer such platforms to enjoy services like female-only beaches or swimming pools.

However, the credit for introducing the idea of the first-ever 100% Halal cruise will remain with Fusion Tour, being inspired by the concept of pro- Kosher and Catholic-friendly cruises in the world.
