Desirability and popularity knows no boundary.

This year Pakistani actors Humaima Malik, Fawad Afzal Khan, Imran Abbas, Meesha Shafi have been nominated for the first time in Itimes India’s Most Desirable poll along with Atif Aslam and Ali Zafar.


Itimes runs this poll every year where it nominates fifty celebrities for each category out of which the voters have to pick ten most desirable man and rank them from 1-10.  All celebrities with Indian citizenship or holding Indian work permit are eligible for nomination but cannot be ranked number 1 consecutively for two years and three times in total.

Fawad Khan made his debut in India last year on both small and big screen with Zindagi Gulzar Hai andKhoobusrat. He made his mark in the B-world and has also been nominated for the Best Debut category male in the Filmfare Awards.

Humaima Malik’s Bollywood debut in Raja Natwarlal opposite to Emran Hashmi quickly made her popular in India.

Meesha Shafi of Reluctant Fundamentalist fame also made waves in India with her role in the Bollywood movie,Bhag Milka Bhag. Imran Abbas made a 3-D impression last year with his 3-D movie, Creature opposite to Bipashu Bashu.

The voting is now live. It will close on 28th February 2015 and the results will be announced in March. Last year Mahesh Babu was ranked number 1 in the India’s Most Desirable Man and Deepika Padukone was ranked number 1 in India’s Most Desirable.

Ali Zafar was ranked 22nd last year and Atif Aslam was not nominated but he managed to secure 25th position in 2011’s poll. The controversial actress, Veena Malik was nominated for the first time in 2012.

Fans can either be the ladder to reach new heights or the slippery slope to fall to new lows. Let’s see which path these new entrants in Bollywood have to walk on.
