If you’re one of those picky eaters who shudder at the thought of all the meat Bakra Eid brings, you’re not alone. There are some people who feel guilty at thought of eating animals they only recently spent quality time with. Then there are those who think the qurbaani meat has a peculiar smell. And of course, there are those who outright refuse to eat anything that’s not chicken.
No matter which category you fall in, we have plenty of options for you. If after qurbaani the sights of blood, guts and gore in the kitchen do not scare you, here is a list of things you can make for yourself.
1. Frozen food items
The food scene in Pakistan is thankfully very kind. We get ample pre-cooked frozen items that require little preparation time. You can make burgers, nuggets even seekh kebabs at home within 5 minutes. Brands such as K&Ns, Mon Salwa, Dawn and Sufi all offer various kinds of frozen food items that you can buy and make at a moment’s notice. The good part, they taste really good. The downside, they make you fat.
2. Packet Noodles
Our staple food since time unknown, packet noodles promise a filling meal in under two minutes. Add to them some chopped onions, cabbage, mushrooms and bits of chicken and you will be done for the day.

If you’re palate is a bit fancier than packet noodles, worry not. We’re only getting started. Here is a recipe for baked potato Pizza that you can make at home. You don’t even need pizza dough. Just chop up some tubers, slather on sauce and viola. We would skip the egg if we were you.
4. Macaroni and Cheese
A very quick and easy recipe for the most eaten food there is. Mac and Cheese! You might have to improvise with a few ingredients but it will still be worth it.
5. Chicken Soup
If you aren’t even in the mood to make your own chicken stock, use a chicken cube with boiled water and voila! Add in all the vegetables you like and sip away.
The ready made doughs are available at all grocery stores. Make a little effort. Get the dough, layer on some pizza sauce, cheese, mushrooms, whatever toppings you want and bake!
7. Sandwich pizza
Yes, these exist. All you need are some slices of bread. The rest of the procedure is similar to that of pizza. You don’t even need dough. Follow this recipe.
