Dolce & Gabbana is celebrating the rose this year, with its new spring makeup collection “Rosa Look.” The Italian house has adopted the flower, a “symbol of femininity and sensuality,” as the inspiration for its new cosmetics line and fragrance.
The collection includes eight new shades of “Dolce Matte Lipstick,” the brand’s first lightly-scented lipstick with a matte formula and a velvety finish. The 13 original red shades are now joined by a variety of pinks, from the delicate pastel shade “Dolce Dolcezza” to the bold fuchsia “Dolce Bacio.” Four new lipliners in the shades “Dolcezza,” “Rosa,” “Mamma” and “Bacio” have also been developed.
The house is also debuting a new blusher in the romantic shade “Bacio,” designed to look as though the wearer is “blushing from a loved one’s kiss on the cheek,” along with a limited edition eyeshadow quad titled “Miss Dolce.” Featuring three matte shades of nude pink, fuchsia and black, the palette draws on the matte effect of the lips, using a pearly white to add light and intensity to the eyes.
Golden beiges have also been incorporated into the look, via the “Perfect Mono Eyeshadow” in the shades “Royal” and “Bronze,” and new nail lacquers in shades of bright fuchsia, soft pink, white and black tie the look together.
The rose-themed collection is underlined by the house’s new fragrance, “Dolce Rosa Excelsa,” which also hits the stores this spring. Featuring top notes of Neroli leaves and Papaya flower, a floral bouquet of White Water Lily and White Daffodil and an African Dog Rose and Turkish Rose heart, the fragrance pays homage to the flower so often used as a motif in the Sicilian house’s fashion designs.
“Rosa Look” and “Dolce Rosa Excelsa” are available globally from March 1.
