Dilwale Poster

ShahRukh Khan & Kajol’s latest movie Dilwale has finally hit the screen! One thing that kept us excited about Dilwale was undoubtedly getting a chance to see the mesmerizing on-screen chemistry of SRK and Kajol almost after five years. In fact, it was this excitement that made us reach out for the first day first show, unknowingly that it is the only best things that we will get to see in the movie. Yes, bitter but true! Rohit Shetty’s Dilwale would have fallen flat on its face without an ensemble of cast.

It’s wise to classify the movie as a romantic drama. It has a few punch lines, but unlike previous work of Shetty, jokes in Dilwale lack coherence and flow.

With a predictable storyline and weak script, Dilwale heavily relies on its already super hit cast.

Despite having all the core substance that captivates attention such as: candlelight dinners, romantic songs, luxurious cars and a bit of action, the movie fails to make a mark with its story.

The story of the movie is a love-hate game between Raj and Meera played by of course SRK and Kajol. Both of them belong to mafia families operating from Bulgaria.

Raj is portrayed as a mean member of the mafia family indulging in the stealing of trunks of gold from his opponents. He turns into a soft person when he meets Meera and that is when we get to see what SRK and Kajol are best known for.

Raj’s transformation from a mafia to a mechanic may raise questions in your mind, but facts and practicality are rarely incorporated in Bollywood’s romantic tales. The first half of the movie is owned by Kajol and SRK shines throughout the second half.

SRK & Kajol Celebrate 20 Years of DDLJ With Dilwale

On one hand, where SRK and Kajol are doing what they do best i.e. stunning the audience with their sizzling chemistry; on the other hand, the young couple of Varun and Kirti are there in the movie to fulfill the requirement of glam and beauty.

Their love story is not as complicated as SRK and Kajol, which is a great thing because two troublesome stories in one movie can become too much to bear.

Kirti is looking pretty and her role is quite simple. Varun however, has done justice to his character; with strong dialogue delivery and great comic timings, his part in the movie needs to be appreciated.

In a nutshell, it can be said that the movie does not have much substance in its storyline as well as lack the elements of comedy and thrill, which the movie actually promises to deliver.
