The Federal Government overruled the Sindh government’s appeal to keep mobile phone service suspended in Karachi on Thursday (3rd December), owed to security threats for the Chehlum Imam Hussain (RA).
In accordance with the notification passed by the federal interior ministry, the cellular service suspension application was disregarded for not being part of the government’s policy.
The notification said; “It is not the government’s policy to put a ban on cellular services”. In this regard, the Sindh home department wrote a letter to the federal government 3 days ago.
Pillion-riding has been made effective in Karachi and other cities owed to security concerns, for two days. The ban was imposed on Wednesday from 10.00 PM and will stay in place till December 3rd, midnight.
