Pakistan has lost another gem in 2018 as Baluchistan’s first female cardiac surgeon, Dr. Mehnaz Marri passes away.
The whole nation is mourning her shocking demise due to a sudden brain hemorrhage. The young doctor got engaged on December 2 and was soon to get married in January 2019.
Dr. Mehnaz Marri served as the consultant cardiovascular surgeon at National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD). She was a Gold Medalist Cardiovascular Surgeon who completed her medical education from Agha Khan University.

Belonging to a conservative district of Kohlu, Mehnaz Marri had to fight through many obstacles to pursue higher studies. This talented lady stood up against all odds and struggled through every stage of her life to achieve her goals.
Her hard work paid off as she succeeded to become the first cardio surgeon from Balochistan, the largest province of Pakistan in terms of land.
The daughter of the nation had the best training of open heart surgery and her passion towards her job didn’t stop her from working day and night on call by herself.
This young lady was also appointed as the assistant professor of cardiac surgery in Bolan Medical University, Quetta, Balochistan.

Setting an example for the youth, Dr. Mehnaz Marri proved that anything can be achieved with strong will and dedication.
An empowered woman in its true sense, Dr. Mehnaz Marri is a role model for all the young girls. She was yet to embark on new missions in her life but left us grieving after her sad demise.
