In the country where beauty norms are defined by the level of fairness and a ‘gori’ bride is adored, designer Ali Xeeshan has taken a step to alter the ideal beauty norms and standards in a breathtakingly gorgeous photo- shoot.
The shoot consists of Abdullah Harris, while his view on a conventional wedding has also been depicted through the splendor of attire and a darker shade of skin tone donned by both the models, Hasnain Lehri and Amna Baber.
The shoot challenges the very concept of fair brides, ruling the industry for decades so that people are satisfied with the color and skin tone they are born with.
While speaking about the photo-shoot Ali stated, “This has been a huge concept for me that I always wanted to articulate. It’s really close to my heart and I wanted to make sure that it was done right. This shoot’s sole purpose is to have people understand that their color is the right color; that beauty standards are not to be stereotyped.”
