When we used to read about the devastation of World War I and WWII, a chill would go down our spine.  Little did we know at the time that we will witness wars with our very own eyes.

Following the mass violence in Palestine, the darkness cast upon Syria where thousands lost their lives. Soon after, a breakout of massive killings was carried out in Myanmar where Rohingya Muslims became the target of brutality and slaughtering.

For those who were lucky enough to survive an escape, the journey to Bangladesh’s border ended up with bodies on the shore.

When the genocide caught the world’s attention, politicians and humanitarians all around the world condemned the killing of the innocent. From Pakistan, Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala Yousufzai also questioned this breakout.

However, while the world was only taking action verbally, 2 men decided to pack their bags, travel to Myanmar, and do something about this crisis. Call them saints or stupid, we have to give it to them, they are none other than Aamir Liaquat and Waqar Zaka.

We know that Waqar has helped people in need before when he traveled to Syria to provide aid and assistance to the victims. This time, he has partnered up with Amir to travel to exactly where these killings are occurring without thinking about what their consequences might be at the end of the day.

Road to Bangkok

The duo decided to do whatever it takes to reach their destination without having to return without being able to carry out their mission. First, they traveled from Dubai to Bangkok via Thai Airways. From there, the duo will take a flight to Yangon, Myanmar (Burma).

However, despite them making their way legally to the country, they have faced many issues already, one includes that Waqar’s ticket almost went to waste. Later in the clip, we see that both of them go through extreme vetting as well.

Despite being very tired, both have kept them motivated by talking about how they are going to Burma to help those who are actually in need.

Journey to Yangon

The last Snap Wqar shared on his account shows that they have landed in Bangkok and are on route to Yangon. He adds that since there is a curfew, it is highly possible that they do not get entry to the country, however, it’s still worth a shot.

Myanmar Campaign

Waqar Zaka has started a campaign on www.waqarzaqa.net so that people around the world who are not able to help physically they can contribute a small amount and help the Rohingya Muslims.
