Baku is bracing for speed as Formula 1 moves to Azerbaijan’s capital for round 17. The world’s fastest cars will race through the historic Old City and along the Caspian Sea.

This will be the eighth race in Baku, which is certain to be a must-watch for both casual viewers and die-hard Formula 1 fans.

Where and When Will The Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix Take Place?

The Baku City Circuit will host three days of thrilling action from September 19–21, 2025. 51 laps of 6 km are set to take place. Here’s a comprehensive breakdown of the full schedule:

The timings are given in local Azerbaijan time (AZT).

Friday, September 19, 2025:

  • Free practice one: 12:30 – 13:30 AZT
  • Free practice two: 16:00 – 17:00 AZT

Saturday, September 20, 2025:

  • Free practice three: 12:30 – 13:30 AZT
  • Qualifying: 16:00 – 17:00

Sunday, September 21, 2025:

  • Race starts at 15:00 AZT

Is Rain Expected During The Race?

The weather forecast indicates mixed conditions and predicts a cloudy weekend. Friday will have sunny spells earlier in the day, but it could get cloudier in the late afternoon. There is a 40% chance of rain.

Saturday will have cloudy conditions in the morning, but the afternoon is expected to be dry. Temperatures will be cooler with a 40% chance of rain. Sunday will also be a cloudy day, but there is a reduced 20% chance of rainfall.

Who Are The Favorites To Win the Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix?

McLaren is the top pick to win the Formula 1 Azerbaijan GP. Oscar Piastri won the race last year, and many expect him to defend his title this weekend.
