Federal Minister of  Planning, Development, and Reforms, Ahsan Iqbal has announced that the government will be launching 5th-genration (5G) cellular services for faster connectivity.

Iqbal added, “People who already have access to 3G/4G technology will be able to benefit from the next advanced mobile network technology after the launch of 5G in the near future. We have big hopes from our youth, who have the potential to contribute to the development and prosperity of the country.”

This announcement was made during the Pakistan StartUP Cup competition, which encourages young entrepreneurs to start their own business. It was organized by US Embassy and The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE). He also talked about ‘Knowledge Corridor’ which will have around 10,000 PhD students who will be trained in US universities.

Over 950 teams participated in the event from Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, and Faisalabad to win the prize of Rs. 1 million. The winning team, Cowlar, proposed an idea for farmers to improve herd health, optimise dairy operations, boost milk yields, and more.
