Remember when you binge-read Archie and Jughead comics back in the day? Well, those iconic childhood days are back with a dark twist!
This time, your favorite characters have an ominous side that they want you to get familiarized with.
CW has produced a mysteriously-sinister twist on a seemingly simple story, which is sure to catch your attention.
If you are looking for something to satisfy your midnight cravings, here are a few reasons why Riverdale might be the show for you;
1. It’s almost the COMPLETE Opposite of the Comics.
The normally cheery and happy-go-lucky characters now find themselves in the midst of dealing with the mysterious and gruesome murder of their peer, Jason Blossom.
if you thought the show would focus on the classic, infamous love triangle between Betty, Archie, and Veronica, you were WRONG!
2. The eye-catching cinematography
Along with the interesting storyline, the show’s cinematography deserves to be appreciated. The crisp colors have an extremely pleasing effect yet at the same time the overall tones are muted and dull, just like the theme itself.
This show keeps you on your toes to find out what else you won’t see or find from the iconic comics.
3. The cast is serious “squad goals”
The cast of this new show has great chemistry both onscreen and offscreen and are regularly featured on each other’s social media accounts, via Instagram Snapchat etc.
How can you not fall in love with them! Getting along in real life probably helps onscreen chemistry a whole lot. Watching this show for just eye-candy even seems to be a fantastic idea!
4.They won’t fail to disappoint with their acting
The show, as well as individual members of the cast, recently won 9 awards at the Teen Choice Awards.
They also won 2 out of 3 awards at the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films USA earlier this year.
You can bet your packet of popcorn that their acting is definitely something that you wouldn’t want to miss out on (So I guess it’s worth watching at least once).
5. If you like the comics, you’ll LOVE the show
Haven’t you ever wondered what the charismatic ginger might look like in real life? You must have if you regularly enjoyed reading the comics. This show gives the characters a more realistic, human touch, thus making it all the more enjoyable to watch and easier to relate to.
Despite the unconventional plot and the unique twist on character portrayals, the show is one which would be considered as intriguing, exciting and entertaining, particularly with its younger audience. All true Archie fans are going to be hooked.
Netflix picked up the CW’s Riverdale, making the series available to most countries. The next season is set to come out in early October this year, so stay tuned.
