Punjab Food Authority has served registration notices and enforcement letters to 30 unregistered restaurants in Bahria Town, Lahore in order to increase the sales tax base of Punjab in the food sector.

A team led by Deputy Commissioner Zakaullah and Additional Commissioner (Enforcement) Shahzad Mehmood Gondal, visited these restaurants to serve notices and provided guidance to register online on the spot to restaurants willing to come on board immediately.

Those restaurants which fail to comply will later be sealed shut.

According to Gondal, the main aim of the current drive to serve notices is to survey and map taxable businesses in posh Lahore localities, serve them notices to register and provide general awareness and guidance and free online registration service on the spot.
