A Florida based US Company, Scottish Spirit Ltd has created world’s first ‘Halal’ whiskey called‘Arkay’.

Promoted as ‘the exceptional taste of whisky without the alcohol content’, Arkay has apparently been declared ‘Halal’ which opens up the huge door of possibility and sale around Muslim states in the world.

The drink is also ideal for youngsters and for people who drink and drive. According to company’s officials, Arkay will be available worldwide from Dec 1, just in time for the party season at the cost of £10 a bottle and £4 for a can in Britain.

According to company officials, Arkay contains zero percent alcohol and is suitable for individuals with medical conditions or religious beliefs that doesn’t allow them to consume alcoholic substances.

“Imagine being able to enjoy your favorite whisky drink at parties without worrying about drinking and driving. ArKay tastes and looks exactly like traditional whisky. It is suitable for drinking straight-up, on the rocks, or with your favorite mixers.” Quoted Daily Mail.

On the other hand, the Scottish Whiskey association is all riled up by the company’s claim saying,“It is not possible to make alcohol-free whisky.”

“This company is trying to exploit whisky’s reputation with highly irresponsible marketing”, the officials further added.

It is yet to be seen whether the so-called ‘Halal’ whiskey will enter Pakistan or not.
