GEO TV was established in May 2002. It started its test transmission on 14th August 2002 and launched its regular transmission on 1st October 2002. Geo is the fastest growing TV Channel in Pakistan with ratings exceeding all satellite TV channels in the market. Geo TV is the first channel to provide round the clock news coverage in Pakistan. With over 140 reporters and cameramen stationed throughout the country, Geo TV has the full infrastructure support of the Jang Group’s 658 countrywide reporters/ stringers/ correspondents network, Pakistan’s leading print media group. Geo has its main station bureaus located in all major cities of Pakistan- Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar and Quetta. It has a single person reporting units in almost 22 locations throughout the country.
