Brief Intro:
The airwaves occupied by Radio Swat carrying religious, cultural, educational, informative, Current Affairs, entertainment and music programmes did cast smoothening effect on the populace of Malakand Division. The different version of satellite based community broadcast with the essence of two way communication to the listeners in the form of telephone and SMS throughout Malakand Division and abroad revolutionized their lives. In a short span of time this radio network became the sole source of information beside its role as Relief Radio. This network bridged the communication gap between IDPs and locals in Swat upon country’s ever largest migration from May 2009 to November 2009. “The Voice of Peace” therefore, emerged as the most credible voice of people. The services of 96 Radio Network have well been recognized by international and national media like CNN, NPR, SAMAA TV etc .The network is being extended country wide shortly. 96 Radio Network has also joined hands with FM 101 network to broadcast its 6 hours a week programmes on every Friday, Saturday and Sunday at prime time i.e. 9 PM to 11 PM. These programmes have emerged as the most popular broadcast of FM 101 Network. This has opened new avenues/opportunities for countrywide access to the business/commercial markets including Khyber Pakhtoon Khawah province.

The coverage area includes Malakand Division including Swat, Peshawar, Nowshera, Bara, Landikotal, Mardan, Chersada, Swabi, Bajaur Agency, Dara Adamkhel, Mohmand Agency, Attock, Hazro, Hasanabdal, North & South Waziristan Agencies, Bannu, Karak, Tank, Jandola, DI Khan, Lakki Marwat, Thall, Hangu, Kohat, Orakzai Agency including Tirrah Valley.
History:
The first of the broadcasts of 96 Radio Network “The Voice of Peace” was aired on 24th February 2009 under intense and horrified environment in Malakand Division, titled “Radio Swat”. 96 Radio Network brought in the concept of “objective infotainment” that has been well received by the audience throughout. Radio Swat fostered hope in the entertainment starved, information deprived and horrified population of entire Odiana Valley by its professionally formatted programmes of 18 hours The success of Radio Swat was capitalized by establishment of a similar radio network in Southern NWFP in the name of “Radio Waziristan” on 14th August 2009. Twenty high power transmitters now effectively broadcast in the entire length and breadth of Khyber Pakhtoon Khawah except Hazara Division, “The Voice of Peace” therefore, inhabits the media space of the province.
