Pakistan’s favorite local mobile brand, QMobile, has completely submerged itself into the smartphone war by introducing its first Windows operated smartphone, the QMobile W1.
With a 4-inch WVGA capacitive screen, the phone runs the Windows 8.1 Operating System. The phone also includes a Qualcomm 1.2 Quad-Core Processor, with a 512 MB RAM and 4 GB ROM, and is preloaded with software such as Facebook, Skype, and Google Chrome.
The 5.0 MP auto-focus rear camera is Flash supported while the VGA front camera completes the frontal view of the phone. The phone supports 3G Connectivity and possesses a long-lasting 1950mAh battery. The phone comes in only one color – black.
The phone comes at a low price of Rs. 7,900, which makes it one of the most reasonable yet powerful smartphones available to the Pakistani consumer.
QMobile must be lauded for taking giant strides in the extremely competitive smartphone market in Pakistan, with new brands such as Oppo and Rivo only recently making an entry into the booming market, but have been unable to break the brand that is QMobile.
With Nokia previously introducing a wide range of Windows phone, the introduction of an economical phone such as the QMobile W1 has allowed QMobile to reach out for a wider mobile-phone audience, and it appears to have taken a step in the right direction yet again.
