Recognized for her ability to work with traditional work patterns, appliqués and vibrant colors, merging them with an array of cuts and drapery, Uzma Babar now comes up with yet another latest bridal collections ‘Shehnai’ under her umbrella brand ‘Umsha’.
‘Shehnai’ is all set to showcase on December 12, 2014 at the Telenor Bridal Couture Week (TBCW). The event will start from December 11 and last till 13, 2014 in Faletti’s Hotel, Lahore.
‘Shehnai’ consists of beautiful shararas, ghararas, farshi ghararas, based on luxe fabrics including silks, crepes, chiffons, charmeuse silk and net. Great emphasis has been given to the applying advanced techniques with intricate hand embroidery meshed with kora, dabka and crystals on rich fabrics.
Umsha is a brand founded and managed by Uzma Babar with the support of her husband, Dr. Babar Razvi. She started a small sweatshop with three workers in 2010. Her passion was reflected in her designs and the demand for her work grew to such an extent that she now has a team of numerous skilled workers. Uzma believes that Bridal Couture Weeks play a significant role in establishing our fashion industry within and outside Pakistan.
The Autumn/Winter season of Pakistan’s biggest bridal extravaganza will exhibit 21 leading and emerging local designers along with designers from UK, India and USA.
