In lieu of the upcoming cyclone Nilofar, Sindh Information Minister, Sharjeel Memon has instructed the advertisers to remove all billboards and hoardings from Karachi immediately.

The warning was issued after he ensured the removal of billboards from his privately owned sites in Sea View, Clifton.

“All companies must remove the billboards within 24 hours. If any loss happened due to strong winds, the concerned company will be held responsible,” he warned

In a press conference, Memon declared an emergency situation in the city urging people to stay at home adding that schools will also remain closed to avoid any unnecessary situation.

The emergency has been declared in 5 districts of Sindh including Karachi, Thatta, Sajawal, Tharparkar and Badin. Sharjeel Memon also issued an emergency warning to all hospitals in case of casualties.

The Cyclone, called ‘Nilofar’ will most likely bring 25 to 35 millimeters heavy rainfall in Karachi cyclone would pass 250 kilometers off the Karachi coast.
