Karachi, city of lights, now infamous for the unorganized clutter of billboards spread across the city-and when this clutter is taken over by one agenda – we know it’s a political happening!

PPP’s(Pakistan People’s Party) historic Jalsa, headed by its 26 year old Chairman – Bilawal Bhutto Zardari at Mazar-e- Quaid has literally hijacked the city with more than 367 billboards mounted at the expense of PKR 44 mn, reports Media Track.

The report is compiled and published by Mediatrack, a leading media monitoring and Research Company.

According to the presentation shared on Slideshare, the majority of major branded sites have been replaced with PPP hoardings and Shahra-e-Faisal as the most cluttered billboard site followed by DHA.

People are being invited from all over the country, from big cities to small villages, to attend and welcome the chairman officially. The Jalsa would mark the seventh anniversary of the twin bombing attacks on late Benazir Bhutto. Bilawal Bhutto, her son, has decided to travel in the same container that his mother traveled in and was protected by from the bomb.

PPP and Bilawal Bhutto are continuously receiving threats and are advised by law enforcement agencies of the province to take special security measures. It is speculated that an outlawed group Jundallah is planning to target Bilawal Bhutto. The PPP chairman has dismissed all threats saying that it’s actually the other way round and terrorists are threatened by him.

Political party jalsas and dharnas have always been an inconvenience to the general public. Be it any political party, businesses and offices are shut down for the day and the main roads all blocked. The cities are paralyzed for hours on end and those in an emergency are made to suffer invariably. With this PPP historic Jalsa too, the shop owners are already ordered to keep their businesses shut on the 18th and it is expected that thousands of vehicles will be coming into Karachi bringing in PPP supporters from all over the country.
