LG will unveil the new flagship G4 handset in six cities: London, New York, Seoul, Paris, Istanbul and Singapore on 28th & 29th April.

With the tremendous success of the LG G series all around the world, the South Korean firm is now a force to be reckoned with in the smartphone market.

Brandsynario brings you the exclusive report on rumors and facts about the much anticipated smartphone.

Juno Cho, LG Mobiles Chief has stated that the G4 will be ‘radically different’ from anything previously seen. The changes include ditching the traditional polycarbonate casing used for LG phones for a metal casing.

The image points to the possibility of the G4 sporting a beautiful stitched leather back. This will be an amazing addition to the design and will provide a premium feel along with differentiating itself from its rivals.

It has been rumored that the G4 will be a unibody phone with the volume rocker and the power button at the back. Cases are already being rendered for the G4 by leading manufacturers.

Speculations include that the new G4 will be seen with unique premium features such as waterproof design, dustproof display, fingerprints scanner and shockproof sensors and it is claimed to be a mashed hybrid of G FLEX 2 and G3.

SCREEN:

The G4 will sport a new 5.5 Inch QHD IPS LCD panel by LG’s subsidiary. With a whopping 535 ppi pixel density, it will sport the resolution of 1393 x 2560.

The new display panel features an amazingly high color gamut (120% gamut), contrast ratio which is 50% higher than the conventionally LCD QHD panels, 30% increase in brightness and relatively low power consumption plus a thinner profile. The phone will be protected by the tough and rugged Corning Gorilla Glass 4.

AIT (Advanced In-Cell Touch) technology vastly improves the responsiveness of the screen by embedding touch sensors. A new photo-alignment option reduces light leakage for a better display in sunlight.

HARDWARE:

The G4 is equipped with a premium Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 808 processor, with a Hexa-core 1.8 GHz Cortex-A57 structure and has the Adreno 418 GPU chipset; which means we can stream 4K Ultra HD videos, 3D online gaming along with an exceptional battery life.

The G4 has an enormous 3GB RAM which will be enough to perform multi-tasking without a hiccup in collaboration with the powerful processor.

A built in 32GB ROM features in the G4 alongside a microSD slot which can support an even more spacious 128GB card.

OS:

Loaded with the latest edition of the Android OS Lollipop 5.0 or 5.1, it will also have the much awaited LG UX 4.0 interface.

As per LG’s official blog, “LG UX 4.0 is a simple and intuitive UX to everyone, as well as easy-to-use, features that provide a high level of functionality as a specialized unit through the user settings.”

Smart Alerts feature will track your activity over time spent with the phone and then provide necessary and customized info and alerts accordingly.
Quick Shot lets you snap a pic just by tapping the volume down button twice even when the phone is locked.
Gallery app is a smart feature which combines the images captured into an album automatically according to the time and place the images have been taken.
Calendar app will pull all the events from Facebook and other social sites and present them in a unified view.

CAMERA:

The G4 will feature a powerful 16MP primary camera with 5312 x 2988 pixels resolution. Accompanying the primary camera will be a laser autofocus system along with a dual-tone LED Flash.

It will carry an amazing aperture range of f/1.8 through a brand new created camera module. This makes it the “widest aperture camera developed for a smartphone” according to LG.

The front camera will be the highest resolution camera produced by LG with an 8MP shooter. Also and Infra Red (IR) filter will provide accurate colors along with a natural look to the photos/selfies.

Export Mode will give greater manual control to the users who like to play with the professional settings. LG claims that this feature will allow for professional DSLR-level quality pictures and let the users play with shutter speeds, aperture, ISO along with other settings.

CONCLUSION:

All in all the G4 sounds very promising and given the recent success of the LG handsets, it is believed this phone will also deliver what is expected of it. Though a little lacking on the processor side, the phone’s features and rumors have us on the edge of our seats.

The unveiling of the G4 will tell the rest of the story and we can’t wait to report it to our readers. Stay tuned for the updates.
