The couple met Indian cricketers Zaheer Khan and Ashish Nehra and Khan’s fiance, Sagarika Ghatge.
However, many Indian fans picked up the picture and started to bash their cricketers for posing with Shoaib Malik.

One of the followers wrote, before posting this photo you would have to think about the martyrs who lost their lives while protecting us on the borders. The other said, Sagarika, Sania Mirza is an anti-Indian but you are not. To let you know, these cricketers with their wives or girlfriends came to New York to attend IIFA Awards.
Truly, it is sad to see how people have considered sports as a war ground and not a gentlemen’s game. We understand that everyone gets emotional when it comes to India vs Pakistan, however, cricket is just a game, there will always be a winner and a loser, and this needs to be accepted!
