expendables

Good news for Expendable fans! The men on a mission are coming back to your TV screens!

Sylvester Stallone, alongside the producer of the hit trilogy, Avi Lerner, is planning to co-produce a miniseries for The Expendables with Fox TV network.

Promoted as “a fun action drama that unites iconic TV stars as a new team of highly-skilled heroes who are on a mission to stop a dangerous terrorist”, it is yet to be seen if audiences accept the action stars on small screen.

While the trilogy may have lost its appeal with each new movie, The Expendables franchise has still managed to earn over USD 800 million, with two more sequels and a female spin-off coined the Expendables in production.

No cast members have been finalized except for assassin trilogy’s miniseries but conjecture for stars like Lucy Lawless, Kiefer Sutherland, Kelsey Grammer, Don Johnson, Mr. T, Chuck Norris, Tom Selleck, Sullivan Stapleton and Kevin Sorbo have been doing rounds as recommendations from the Expendables’ fans.

Writer Greg Coolidge, of the Ride Along fame, with Kirk Ward, from the Forrest Gump and NCIS: LA’s Shane Brennan acting as the show runner are currently working on the script for the new miniseries.

The series hasn’t just been ordered by Lionsgate yet, but with the house producing the franchise for years now and eyeing the idea of miniseries since 2012, it won’t be a surprise if they are approached for production again.
