Plaza cinema in Lahore was established in 1938 and is the oldest cinema in Pakistan. Previously it was known as the Sagar theatre, but the ownership was transferred about 72 years ago. It has never been refurbished and still continues to run in the same manner. However the cinema building was damaged following the bomb blasts at the F.I.A office in Lahore and has been shut down.
