Job Description
The Digital Strategist is responsible for problem solving and planning related to
digital solutions for client engagements and new business development. Partnering
with an integrated brand/client team, the Digital Strategist enables brands to compete
in the marketplace by leveraging the opportunities to reach and engage with customers
online: through paid and earned media including, websites, search, mobile and social
networks. The Digital Strategist develops a plan that includes search, content and
(in partnership with Interaction Designers) overall user experience strategies.
Key areas of focus include:
- Maximizing digital opportunities with current clients: delivering sound strategic
plans and overseeing flawless execution
- Participating in new business development as a key member of the pitch team
- Keeping the integrated team current on trends, competitive moves and best practice
analysis, with particular knowledge of the communication industry landscape
- Identifying opportunities for differentiation
- Writing PoVs and authoring white papers on various topics
- Development of client workshops - brainstorming and prioritization sessions
- Presentation of digital strategic recommendations
The ideal candidate should have the following background:
- An in depth understanding of the digital marketplace and/or ad agency background
with at least five (5) years of work experience in Digital Consulting, Digital Marketing,
Advertising, and/or Management Consulting
- Experience working within the communication industry
- Ability to interface and work in conjunction with a wide range of team members
across various disciplines and departments is essential. Familiarity with cross-channel
strategies, including online branding and direct response programs, as well as media
campaign management is also important.
- Extensive knowledge of Internet technologies
- Candidate must demonstrate: an ability to gather data and problem solve; strong
written and presentation skills; knowledge of business and ability to work on a
team
- Should have strong experience working in Word, PowerPoint and Excel
- Strong understanding of Flash, CMS systems, Java, HTML
- Good understanding of internationalization and localization
