Telecoms all over Pakistan completed the biometric re-verification drive yesterday, 12th April.

The three month long campaign, which reportedly cost more than 60 million dollars, resulted in a whopping 26 million SIMs were either disowned or left unverified by their owners, whereas the total number of verified SIMs are 71.1 million, against 60 million CNICs, out of a grand total of 103 million SIMs.

Previously it was announced that the biometric re-verification deadlines had been extended to April 12th.

Mobile phone companies are to submit a compliance report to PTA on Monday, 13th April, after blocking all unverified numbers.

Currently Mobilink is leading the SIM re-verification sharts.

PTA had also announced SIM activation procedures for overseas Pakistanis.

What To Do If Your SIM Gets Blocked?

If you were unable to verify your SIM, for whatever reasons you may have; unfortunately your SIM is now blocked.

But all is not lost! You can still have your SIM replaced!

Just follow our SIM re-activation guide:

  1. Go to the service center or franchise of your respective telecom operator.
  2. Pay the SIM replacement fee (about 50 to 75 PKR) to get your old number on a new SIM.

And that’s it! Your SIM has been re-verified!

The SIM replacement facility will be available for the upcoming 180 days, after which your number will be blocked forever and will be added to re-sale pool.
